Fig. 4. Retinal findings in diabetic papillopathy from the right eye of the patient in case 3. Optic nerve swelling improved at 2 months after sub-Tenon injection of triamcinolone. (A) Fundus photography demonstrated hyperemic swelling of the optic nerve and a laser scar in eyes with regressed proliferative diabetic retinopathy. (B) Optical coherence tomography (OCT) findings revealed optic nerve swelling and macular cystic edema. (C-E) Early phase fluorescein angiography (FA) findings showed localized hyperfluorescence, and late phase showed prominent leakage from the optic nerve. Visual field (VF) examination revealed no altitudinal defect. (F, G) Retinal findings at 4 years after initial presentation showed a pale optic disc. (G) OCT findings showed minimal cystic edema on the macula.
