Fig. 1. A 55-year-old male patient with diabetic macular edema (DME) who responded to combination intravitreal bevacizumab (IVB)-posterior subtenon triamcinolone acetonide (stTA) therapy. The patient received three consecutive IVB injections before the IVB-stTA combination injection. (A) En face swept-source optical coherence tomography angiography (SS-OCTA) images obtained with a 6 × 6-mm protocol centered on the fovea of the superficial capillary plexus (SCP) and (C) deep capillary plexus (DCP), respectively. (B) OCTA images of the SCP and (D) DCP 1 month after IVB-stTA injection. (E, G) Central macular thickness (CMT) was 631 μm after receiving three IVB injections and visual acuity (VA) was 0.5 logMAR. (F, H) One month after IVB-stTA injection, CMT decreased to 495 μm and VA improved to 0.3 logMAR. logMAR = logarithm of minimal angle of resolution.
